Newtown Idol

Event:
Singing competition conducted as an entertainment event for Newtown’s First Night Celebration
Winner(s) selected by audience applause
Scholarship awarded to the winner

Who:
Open to high school students, recommended by a teacher, choral or band director, 8 candidates will be accepted, first-come-first-served.
Candidates must love to sing and are motivated to compete to become Newtown’s Idol on New Year’s Eve.

When:
Final competition on New Year’s Eve, Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 7 PM. Preliminaries on December 7, 14, 2009

Where:
Finals at the Council Rock North High School auditorium.
Preliminaries at local independent living facilities.

Rules:
Songs (2) selected from a karaoke song list or provided by the candidate on purchased CDG format discs (no copies).

Voting by audience applause.
